Syracuse University

Syracuse University Seal LogoI began my graduate studies in the Department of Sociology at Syracuse University in the Fall of 2006. I earned my Masters in Sociology in 2008 and a Ph.D. in 2012. Syracuse is a private university with a long history of academic excellence and community engagement. The Department of Sociology is part of the prestigious Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

At Syracuse I had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented academics in the field including the renowned postmodern theorist Dr. Jackie Orr and pioneering institutional ethnographer Dr. Marjorie DeVault. I gained experience conducting research both independently and as part of a team. I also had the opportunity to teach frequently.

Committee work is part of the responsibility for graduate students at Syracuse and I served on the executive boards of the Academic Integrity Committee and the acclaimed Future Professoriate Program. Additionally, I actively presented at national conferences and worked hard on papers for publication.

Syracuse University will always have a special place in my heart!
